Mr. Nunn was the main proponent of the formation of the Collin Equality Foundation, and as founder has served as the Foundation's president and chair since its formation in October 2003. Mr. Nunn has extensive community organization experience, both within Australia and in the United States. One of Mr. Nunn's early learning (and life-changing) experiences was his involvement with the Victorian AIDS Council/Gay Men's Health Center (VAC/GMHC), where he served as treasurer for three years in the early 1990's. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of the VAC/GMHC Living Plan, a strategic planning and financial management tool used by the VAC/GMHC to determine program funding. One of the key results of this plan was the establishment of the Development Program to coordinate much needed fundraising for the organizations. Mr. Nunn has a wealth of experience through his community involvement, including being an original member of the steering committee, and founding board member of the Collin County Gay and Lesbian Alliance (CCGLA). Mr. Nunn is a past President for Region II of the Texas Junior College Student Government Association (after having completed a full term during 2004-2005), and is currently a founding community member and chair of the North Texas AIDS Awareness Coalition. Early in 2005, Mr. Nunn completed his second-term as president of his homeowners association, and currently remains involved on various committees within his neighborhood. Mr. Nunn has also been a strong community member is his adopted home of Frisco, TX, and has been actively involved with city issues, as well as being a founding member of Equality|Frisco, and Frisco Pride. Mr. Nunn has also volunteered his time and web design talent to local and national organizations including Immigration Equality (North Central Texas Chapter), Plantation Springs HOA, CCCCD's Student Government Association and Out and Equal Workplace Advocates. Amongst Mr. Nunn's' recent achievements are being named Associa's 2003 Homeowners Board Member of the Year (North Texas), Collin County Community College's Outstanding Student Organization Leader for 2003-2004, and being awarded an honorary life membership to the Texas Junior College Student Government Association. Mr. Nunn is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he received his BA in Sociology. He is continuing his post-graduate studies in the area of community organizations within the GLBTQ community. Mr. Nunn lives with his partner in Frisco, Texas along with their two dogs Bosley and Colby. |
