Erase Hate Campaign

Joining with the Matthew Shepard Foundation, the Triangle Foundation is encouraging visitors to join the Campaign to Erase Hate.

"It has been TEN YEARS since the death of Matthew Shepard and the formation of the Matthew Shepard Foundation. Since that pivotal moment in the civil rights movement for gay Americans, there has been a great deal of change in how the nation talks about how hate impacts our everyday lives.

On March 29th, the Matthew Shepard Foundation launched the Campaign to Erase Hate - a new anti-hate campaign that challenges individuals to help us further progress on how our country deals with hate. This campaign provides tools on how to spread the message of "erasing hate" by using innovative technology, viral marketing, personal relationships and the power of "personal voice" to create social change."

Effective July 9, 2007, the board of trustees of the Collin Equality Foundation announced the change of its name to the Triangle Foundation. The name change establishes a new focus on the organization's commitment to research, education and information. The Triangle Foundation will continue to address the issues that affect gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender individuals within the North Texas region. During the transition, which is expected to last until the end of September 2007, parts of the Foundation's operations will be undertaken in the name of Collin Equality Foundation. It is the hope of the Board to be fully functioning as the Triangle Foundation by October 1, 2007.
